The boy fell asleep after 5 minutes in and I thought it was a shame. I enjoyed The Vault. It starts with 2 sisters, their brother and a couple of friends/accomplices, who are in the process of robbing a bank. It stars James Franco, Clint Eastwood’s daughter and Taryn Manning. Early on, the fact that the bank is haunted is alluded to. They take hostages and unfortunately discover there is not enough money for their needs until the assistant manager, James Franco points out there is another vault with millions in. Of course, this is the haunted part of the bank and chaos ensues. Somebody has alerted the police and bad guys start dying. It took a while to get going and a while for the relationships to become clear. Apart from this, there were some semi decent jump scares. Dead people with bags on their heads covered with soaked blood creep me out a bit. There was a twist at the end that I saw coming but I liked it. I also thought up some other twists they could have done if they’d pushed the boat out. It didn’t blow my mind…but it wasn’t terrible. I felt Taryn Manning was type cast as white trash again and James Franco was a strange choice of casting. I’m struggling to find enthusiasm one way or another. So I guess 6/10 for this middle of the road horror but with some nuggets of creepy gold.

3rd of October: The Vault 6/10.
Doesn’t sound half bad. By sheer coincidence I saw this one in a bargain bin today at a local DVD store, but I passed up on it. Kind of regret that now. Oh well, I can still get it later 😊
