Autumn Favourites….

Another list incoming…..I’ve been musing my favourite things about the autumn season and why it makes me feel more alive than any other season.

• Pumpkins…why? I don’t even know but there’s something about pumpkins that fills my little heart with joy.
• Pumpkin spice everything….such a cliche but I can’t help but love the spicy cinnamony scent and taste that now reminds me of autumn joy.
• The smell of bonfires and decay….it makes me feel excited like something is coming, like mysteries are about to be revealed.
• The feeling of going back to school (I hated school but always felt excited going back, maybe hoping things would be different).
• Stationary shopping (even though I don’t need to anymore).
• Halloween/Samhain.
• Autumn sunshine, through the golden leaves.
• Spider webs with dew (not when they hit you in the face though!)..
• Warming comfort food and trying new recipes.
• Starting to burn candles and having a fire again.
• Getting the jumpers out! Hiding a multitude of sins!
• My birthday!
• Autumn afternoon tea menus (and plenty of places in my little town now have vegan options).
• AHS on the television and other new programmes and seasons starting.
• Cool rainy days and watching the rain out of the window with a cup of tea.
• Getting the heavy quilt and blankets out.
• Suddenly feeling the urge to knit and sew.
• Making soup and warm home made bread.
• Boot weather.
• New Lush Halloween items.
• Spooky feeling in the air….
