Happy Mabon

I have been remiss in updating this blog and I promise to do better. I have so many books and films to review. My life has been upside down really. I took voluntary redundancy from my job as a library assistant due to struggling through a breakdown. I have now started to retrain as a reflexologist. This has been more intensive than I realized and between looking after my boys and crafting and studying I’ve been somewhat burned out. Writing this blog is important to me though so I wanted to come back. I found it therapeutic during my worst times to have something other to concentrate on. It’s that buzz when everything is turning to shit but someone likes your post πŸ˜‰

Things that are awesome: It’s autumn! AHS starts for the UK next week! PSL are out! I’ve started swimming again. Looking forward to a few new series such as The Haunting of Hill House and A Discovery of Witches. This year I’m actually on home soil for Halloween and not on a cruise ship. We’ve started building up our Halloween decorations again (we sold all our good stuff a few years ago when money was tight).

So today I’m venturing into blog world again and hope to get my mojo back. I wonder if I kind of hibernate during the summer?

To celebrate Mabon this evening will be wine and I shall be making pumpkin spiced chocolate chip cookies which are amazing. This was the recipe I used last time https://thebusybaker.ca/pumpkin-spice-chocolate-chip-cookies/ . Even my youngest who is funny with food enjoyed them. I shall probably do a ritual in my shed, depending on how wild the weather is as the wind is quite violent at the minute and my candles may not stand up to it even with shelter.

About thewytchinghourblog

I'm a horror loving librarian with the need to share reviews of everything horror, gore and spooky related. I'm an avid reader of books, mainly horror, definitely supernatural. I'm a pagan and like to define myself as an eclectic witch. Halloween/Samhain is my favourite time of year from everything pumpkin spiced, the scent of decay and the veil between worlds thinning. So, here we are to share all things blood splattered, things that go bump in the night and crawl out of the darkness.
